About the Native
In the analog - as opposed to digital - world, the Digital Native is Jacqueline Chenault, a Washington DC -based graphic and web designer.
Jacqueline started learning the paths through the digital jungle in 1998 when she set off into the wilds with only an O'Reily book on HTML to help her find the way. The digital jungle has changed a lot since those ancient times. Many of the rough edges have been smoothed away. Still it is a jungle, and with over ten years' experience navigating it's paths Jacqueline has emerged as a skilled native guide. Recent expeditions have involved everything from Romanian theatrical groups to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives and the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming - whose groundbreaking website earned a Golden Dot for best eGov website, a Pollie Award, and was an Official Webby Awards Honoree.
Jacqueline earned her degree from the George Washington University in Washington, DC where she was exposed to issues of international importance within the worldwide jungle of the internet - issues like network neutrality, censorship, transparency, and open standards. When the network is down and the monitors are turned off, Jacqueline can be found in the theatres and film sets of Washington. When she finds her way back online, she works to bring her understanding of the digital world and theatrical world together to their mutual advantage.
